A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, February 12, 2018
at the Matsche Center.
Trustee Burazin was absent.
Also present: Tom Gatz, Chris Jensen, Tony Inderdahl, Al Peterson & Gordy Meyer.
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes were read and approved. 
Discussion was held in regard to the letter received from Shawano County surveyor about a gap in title
between Hedge's Subdivision and Brumm's First and Second Addition subdivisions. This gap involves 23 parcels
and 18 owners. Within the gap owners occupy land that they do not hold title to. This is causing serious
problems in terms of accuracy in county mapping, assessment and taxation.  It is suggested the Village
order an Assessor's Plat. This plat would reconcile any property line disputes, realign property lines to
the lands that each owner occupies and will allow accurate assessment and taxation.(Birch/Wausau Sts.)

Trustee Schmidt called the DOT in regard to study for lowering speed limit on Hwy 45. Will be done
when the roads are dry. 
A letter was received from a resident about a dog running loose. Chris Jensen will visit the owner. 
A teacher from the Birnamwood School has asked permission to paint the warming shelter by the 
ice rink, add shelving and skates.

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes were read and approved. Bills were presented.​Burazin/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills as presented. Roll call vote - all yes.
Discussion was held in regard to a resident with a new home needing water/sewer connection.
Discussion was held in regard to funds for sewer line repairs. 
Burazin/Wruck m/s/c to  grant Chris Jensen a $0.73 per hour raise and add 2 floating holidays
to be used at Chris' discretion.  Roll call vote - motion carried with C. Resch voting no. 
Water is being lost somewhere in the system. Chris will check into this and clerk will
provide a water usage report bi-monthly to help keep track of this.

Juanita Thomas will be assisting Shawano in the transition to a new employee, she will be having knee
surgery in February. 
Cross connection inspections and water meter replacements will be completed this week.
$9,603.45 was granted for LRIP funds for the 2018-2019 term. 
Trustees Don, Ron & Vicki will meet to do Chris Jensen's review. 
Behm/Wruck m/s/c to approve liquor licenses for Dollar General. Roll call vote - all yes.
$26,567.59 will be received in Transportation Aids for 2018.
Behm/Schmidt m/s/c to approve election board for 2018-2019 term.
Rural Development approved a purchase of a bagger for the new lawn mower.

Weather didn't allow for any landscaping to be done at ballpark, Will be done in the spring. 
Railing should be installed soon so seating can be installed too.  Ball teams will be holding a fundraiser to 
buy equipment needed for the concession stand and if money allows some picnic tables. 
Work on cul-de-sac in Village View Courts is complete.

Landscaping will be started this week and finished in spring.
Maple St. paving is complete.
Fees were charged to the Village from Advanced Disposal because of large trees in the dumpster. 
Only small kindling is allowed.
Water drainage at the Dollar General Store needs to be addressed. 
R. Resch/Behm m/s/c to approve signage for the ballpark as presented. Roll call vote - all yes. 
Cul de sac in Village View Trailer Park is being worked on. 
December 25th meeting will be changed to the 26th.

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
The Leih's are new Village residents and had a few questions. 
Minutes were read and approved. Bills were presented.​Burazin/Behm m/s/c to approve bills as presented. Roll call vote - all yes.
Stibbe Exc. Will be doing the landscaping and field work at the ball park for $19,300.00 plus $10,000.00 
in materials from Anderson Bros. Work should start Wednesday and completed in a week. 
Hydro-clean will probably do manholes in spring 2018 with a $2,480.00 reduction.
Cross connection and meter replacements continue.
Top layer of blacktop on Maple St. will be applied when ball park work is complete or in the spring
if weather conditions are not conducive. 
Response was received from WI Dot in regard to speed limit change. They will do a re-assessment and
follow up with the Village at a later date. 
Chris is working with Advanced Disposal to get credit for overcharge for yard waste.
Rural Development has approved the purchase of a portable generator and new lawn mower with
grant funds. 
Samples of signage of stadium recognition will be presented at the next board meeting. 
One bid was received for snow removal. K & D Construction - 5 yd. bucket end loader $100 per hour,
20 yd. quad axle dump truck $95.00 per hour. Behm/Wruck m/s/c to accept bid. Roll call vote - all yes.
Fee schedule was reviewed. Burazin/Wruck m/s/c to raise clerk/treasurer salary to $14,000, water clerk
$5,000, and sewer clerk $5,000 annually. Effective January 1, 2018. Roll call vote - all yes.
Schmidt/Burazin m/s/c to raise Village President salary to $2,400, Trustee salary $1,200 per annum and
$50.00 for each regular and special meeting attended for all. Eff. 4/1/18. Roll call vote - all yes.
C. Resch/Behm m/s/c to set dog lister salary to $500 per annum.  Roll call vote - all yes. 
Burazin/Schmidt m/s/c to set election workers pay at $14.00 per hour, chief inspector $16.00 per hour
and tabulators at $12.00 per hour. Roll call vote - all yes. 
Schmidt/Burazin m/s/c to set meter reader pay at $12.00 per hour. Roll call vote - all yes with R. Resch
abstaining. 
Wruck/Behm m/s/c to set lawn mower pay at $12.00 per hour. Roll call vote - all yes. 
Behm/Burazin m/s/c to set park pavilion rental at $25.00. Roll call vote - all yes. 
Trustee Schmidt suggested work needs to be done on the cul de sac at the end of the street in the Village 
View trailer park, bills should be reviewed by Chris before meetings and a purchase of a trailer for 
village use.

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Wruck/Behm m/s/c to grant variance to Brian & Amy Cornelius to build a 36x36 storage building.

Tipping fees have been added to our dumpster rental from Advanced
Disposal. This needs to be looked into. 
Ball park progress continues with fencing being installed this week. 
Discussion was held in regard to the naming of the stadium. Park will continue
to be called Roepke Park.  Jeff Fraaza installed the roll up doors in the concession stand area.
Julayne Stadler will be our area representative on the Shawano County Library Board. 
The County has signed the lease agreement with the school for the building. The
County will take over expenses and purchases for the Public Library on January 1, 2018.
K & D Construction will do work on the man hole on Maple St. before blacktopping is done. 
Remaining man hole repairs will be done at the end of October. 
Timers were installed at the Matsche Center for outdoor lighting. 
Cross connection & water meter replacement work continues. 
Blacktop patch on High St. is complete. 
Maple St. work continues. 
Letter will be submitted for speed limit change on Hwy 45. 
Dollar General HVAC plans were approved by the state.
