A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, June 10, 2013 at the Matsche Center. Trustee VanOrder was absent. Also present: Ed Resch, Mitch Block, Ken Karpf & Lawrence Hable
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Bills were referred to finance committee. Block/Rew m/s/c to approve vouchers. Roll call vote - all yes.
The attorney recommended Kapur & Assoc. to prepare demolition bidding documents for a cost of $1,000.00. Trustee Block will check to see if Jeff Musson would like to bid on document preparation.
Solutions are being looked at for the ballpark repairs.
Steering committee has sent out letters for fundraising. Landscaping around the building will be done in June.
President Sprague talked with Quarles & Brady in regard to the interim financing for the WWTP.
Trustee Block spoke with the Shawano Co. in regard to the culverts under Hwy N at the end of Railroad St. Ditch line project will be put on hold until further information can be obtained.
Trustee Block will prepare a bid list for fill on the Remington property that the Village leases along State Rd. Barrels from the testing company need to be removed.
Clerk will send letters to two property owners informing them of the grass ordinance.
President Sprague has an inquiry in to Shawano Co. for extra sheriff patrol and the cost involved.
The 2000 Chevy village truck will be put out for sale on the Birnamwood Repair lot.
Block/Gutowski m/s/c to list truck for sale as best offer, as is, no warranties. To be sold at next meeting.
Gutowski/Block m/s/c to grant picnic license to Birnamwood Homecoming and operators licenses to Mike Hable,
Sandra Hable and Richard Marien. Roll call vote - all yes.
Gutowski/Block mm/s/c to donate $1,500.00 to the fireworks display to be held July 3, 2013.
A resident asked for a water bill reduction because of abnormal high usage, probably due to a leak. Additional information will need to be obtained in regard to previous meter readings.
Question was asked if the liquor licenses for the Birnamwood Hotel and Knotty Pines have lapsed.
Calls have been received in regard to the property on the corner of Hwy 45 and Maple St. It is zoned
commercial and would not qualify for a use change.
The Treasurer reported on the receipts for May.
