A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, May 13, 2013 at the Matsche Center. Trustee Rew was absent. Also present: Tom Gatz, Dennis Rew, Ken Karpf, Daryl Staeven & Mitch Block
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
The minutes of the April 22, 2013 meeting were approved as read.
Dennis Rew will be installing curb and gutter along his property line and would like some guidance on correct placement.
Tom Gatz asked if the village has a site for storm damage disposal. In case of an emergency, a site would be established by the village garage.
A tree a fallen across the driveway at 463 Hwy N. Property is owned by Creditus. Treasurer will find an address to send clean up request.
Bills were referred to the finance committee.
Van Order/Gutowski m/s/c to approve vouchers. Roll call vote - all yes.
Trustee Block asked to have agendas emailed.
The purchase of the Birnamwood Hotel is complete. The attorney will provide a proposal for demolition.
Norm Matsche has asked for the size of the bell tower to be changed. Architect will check to see if suggested change is structurally sound.
Block/Behm m/s/c to adopt Sewer rules, Regulations and Rate Ordinance as presented. Roll call vote - all yes.
Easements for all sewer line access are complete. Press release will be prepared for the WWTP project.
Jim Peasley will be contacted to continue work at Birchwood Park.
Gutowski/Block m/s/c to moved next meeting date to Tuesday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. Roll call vote - all yes.
Gutowski/VanOrder m/s/c to grant beer license to Birnamwood Baseball Team effective May 1, 2013 through October 31, 2013. Roll call vote -
Birnamwood PTO asked to use the Matsche Center during Homecoming to host a dance and provide games for youth. The Board felt this would
detract from the Homecoming which the Village supports.
Discussion was held in regard to damage done to the bathroom stall in the men's bathroom at the Matsche Center.
Question was asked previously as to the cost to heat the Matsche Center. Total cost for 6 months was $699.72.
The Treasurer reported the receipts for April.
