A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2013 at the Matsche Center. Treasurer Rew was absent and Trustees Block, Resch and Gutowski arrived late. Also present: Tom Gatz, Jason Barke, Kirk Rucker, Ed Resch, Josh Beran, Bob Meydam, Mike Konecny & Mitch Block
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.
Mike Konecny, from Schenck, reported on the annual Village audit held in February. Village financials are favorable.
TID will continue to allow expenses until July of 2015. About $800,000.00 will be available for sewer project or other planned for expenses.
Residents filed complaints in regard to loose dogs from the property at 408 Pearl St.
A report of a vehicle in the village taking pictures of small children. Residents should be on the look out for a 1994 Buick sedan, metallic in color with license plate 162-UYV. Shawano County police have been notified.
Block/Resch m/s/c to continue with the Railroad Street ditch line project with a cost of $54,986.00 for pipe and installation to be completed in July. Roll call vote - all yes.
Complaints were received in regard to residents in violation of the lawn, curfew, garbage, brush and junk car ordinances. Committee members will drive through village to obtain addresses of residents in violation and letters will be sent and fines assessed.
Bills were referred to the finance committee.
VanOrder/Gutowski m/s/c to approve vouchers. Roll call vote - all yes.
Matsche Center steering committee is working on a press release and will sending out letters for fundraising. Landscaping should begin soon.
Block/VanOrder m/s/c to approve Code of Ethics, Resolution #05-01-13 Authorizing the use and maintenance of the public right of way for lift station and contract with Infrastructure
Alternatives as submitted by request by Rural Development for WWTP project. Roll call vote - all yes.
Trustee Rew reported that the Lions Club will match park repairs and new dugout up to $7,000.00.
The ball park schedule will be posted online.
Behm/Block m/s/c to accept proposal of Dennis Rew to install curb and gutter along his property
on High St. approximately 200 ft. The void between current blacktop and new gutter will be
filled with 6" of road base. Roll call vote - all yes with Rew and VanOrder abstaining.
A tour of the Danbury WWTP will be taken on June 14, 2013 for those interested.
