A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, July 8, 2013 at the Matsche Center. Treasurer Rew was absent. Also present: Ed Resch, Mitch Block, Ken Karpf, Danny Rew, Paula Rew, Orville Henderson, Arlene Henderson, Jason Barke, Bernie Senoracki, Judy Senoracki, Norman Matsche, Jeff Musson
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
The group of concerned citizens reported on the steps taken in the last 2 weeks and asked for updates from the Village Board in regard to ordinance violations. A request was made to have more supplemental patrolling hired for the Village from Shawano County and more enforcement of ordinances by the Village Board and Village Attorney. It was also suggested to have Tom Touma from the sheriff's department attend a village board meeting.
Additional letters are to be sent to residents in violation of ordinances.
Norm Matsche asked that the light poles in the parking lot be painted.
Bills were referred to finance committee. Behm/Resch m/s/c to approve vouchers. Roll call vote - all yes.
Jeff Musson presented a tentative schedule for Birnamwood Hotel demolition. Mike Block will research insurance limits.
Jeff Musson also presented a drawing of the bell tower to be erected on the north end of the building.
Trustee Rew will get a committee together to research options for repairing the ballpark.
The landscaping is done around the building and fill has been placed on the East side and will be seeded down soon.
Trustee Block reported that pipe is available for the ditch line along Railroad St. Approval is needed from the county and utilities.
Covers on the catch basins on Railroad St. need to be secured.
The Village Truck was sold for $1,200.00.
The bathrooms in the park on Wausau St. will continue to be open in daytime hours.
The Treasurer reported the receipts for June.
