A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, September 9, 2013 at the Matsche Center. All members were present. Also present: Ed Resch, Mitch Block, Ken Karpf ,Donald Schmidt, & Al Pfefferle
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Bills were referred to finance committee. VanOrder/Rew m/s/c to approve vouchers. Roll call vote - all yes
Don Schmidt asked for clarification on several rumors around town.
Al Pfefferle inquired about replacing the culvert in his driveway and abandoning the alley behind his property.
Guelig is waiting on approval from DNR for clearance on disposal of waste from the Hotel demolition. 10 day delay.
Bell tower project has begun.
Mike Block asked for water and sewer access to his property along Railroad St. before the ditch line is filled. He will then move the old Vet Clinic building to his lot. Ditch line project should be completed yet this fall.
Discussion was held on next steps to completing GPS work for water valve shutoffs.
Rural Development has approved sludge pond removal for this fall, Village will fund this part of project as part of Village commitment. Approval still needed from DNR to proceed. Basketball court will need to be moved to another site. New WWTP project should go to bid this month yet. Block/VanOrder m/s/c to approve separation of bid project and proceed with sludge pond removal. Roll call vote - all yes.
Several board members did not have time to review ordinances as proposed. Comments shall be presented to ordinance committee at next meeting. Committee will compile notes for October meeting.
Hand pump was broken in Birchwood Park.
Current equalized value for TID is $21,210,600.
Treasurer reported on the receipts for August.
