A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, February 24, 2014 at the Matsche Center. All members were present.
Also present: Mitch Block, Ed Resch, Jason Barke, Jeff Musson, Jerry Dorriot
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Jerry Dorriot from SEH gave an update on the WWTP. Sludge may have to be stored in geo tubes. New test needs to be run on sludge as it is a New Year. New lift station will be installed. Project will be bid as 3 projects. Parking lot will be paved, hydrant moved to ice rink area and hydrant service placed inside of new building to fill fire trucks.
Jeff Musson presented a preliminary estimate of construction cost for ballpark. Board asked that he obtain a second cost estimate.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were read and referred to finance committee. Rew/VanOrder m/s/c to approve vouchers. Roll call vote - all yes.
Trustee Behm spoke with Jim Peasley. He should be able to start work in Birchwood Park in 3-4 weeks.
Gutowski/VanOrder m/s/c to adopt grievance procedures as presented. Roll call vote - all yes.
Trustee Behm stated that plow truck drivers have a large responsibility and should be paid more.
President Sprague reported that Chris Jensen is interested in returning to the Village as water/sewer
operator and police officer.
President Sprague also reported that more testing and reporting on the collection system and additional
licensing will be needed in the future.
Discussion was held on trustee position opening. Board will wait until after spring election to make decision.
Treasurer gave a report on tax collection.
Mitch Block will contact K & D Construction for snow removal.
