PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 26, 2024
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, August 26, 2024 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Conner Opper
Meeting was called to order at 7:10 p. m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and approved from August 12, 2024
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes
President Sprague reviewed the insurance quote.
Mike Block still needs to finish the project at the old Village Hall.
Phil Tautges is working at Birchwood Park this week.
Conner completed his sewer training and testing. He can now get his certification from the DNR.
CBS Squared reported our plan for the sewer plant upgrade to the DNR. A Site for the seepage still needs to be found.
Our report listing of water line materials needs to be submitted to the DNR by the end of November. Some areas are unknown.
Ecode is completed. Adoption of the Ecode ordinance will be at the next meeting.
Two candidates for the clerk/treasurer job have been interviewed. A decision will be made before the next meeting.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 12, 2024
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, August 12, 2024 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Phil & Tanya Tautges & Brad & Bonnie Resch
Meeting was called to order at 7:10 p. m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Tanya Tautges reported on the success of the Birnamwood Polka Days. With funds earned the committee has decided to purchase new street Christmas decorations. Phil Tautges will donate his time to mount the new brackets.
This year for the Berry Merry Christmas on November 30, 2024 they will be asking Businesses to decorate their windows and homeowner’s their homes for a fun competition. The Polka Days committee has also remodeled the concession stand.
Klumpyan/Schmidt m/s/c to pay for half the cost of the street light decorations at a cost of $4,469.00. Roll call vote – all yes.
Brad Resch requested a variance for his new building to be within 64′ of the roadway.
Klumpyan/Dombrowski m/s/c to allow Resch’s Tile to build within 64″ of the roadway. Roll call vote – all yes.
Brad also inquired in regard to adding more seating at the ballpark, status of Village sign and ability to obtain another address for their new building.

ARPA funds of $24,699.66 were used to pay towards Village share of the new ambulance. Balance of $12,920.34 will be paid before the end of the year.
Safety grant is again available through League of Wisconsin Municipalities Insurance for $600.00.
Mike Block prepared a proposal to repair drainage on the west side of Village Hall. E. Resch/Cieslewicz m/s/c to accept proposal for $1,315.00. Roll call vote – all yes.
The search continues for property for the seepage cell update for the sewer plant.
Building permits were issued to Brianna Beran & Erik Kessen.
E. Resch/Klumpyan m/s/c to grant Alcohol Beverage license to Schairer’s Autumn Acres. Roll call vote – all yes.
The Village share of EMS funding will be decreased next year as fees will be based on 1/3 population, 1/3 calls & 1/3 evaluation.
R.Resch/Klumpyan m/s/c to adopt ordinance 24/8/1 Solar Energy Systems Siting. Roll call vote – all yes.
Receipts were reported for July.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING JULY 22, 2024
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, July 22, 2024 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Conner Opper
Meeting was called to order at 7:15 p. m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and approved from July 8, 2024
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes
Mike Sprague, Jody Dombrowski, Edwin Resch, and Don Schmidt met with Mike Block to discuss futute work at Village Hall. Next step is to fix the lawn sloping so water does not drain into building. Will not lay new cement or install rain gutters at this time.
Mike Block will replace cement in sidewalk across from the school.
Cieslewicz/Klumpyan m/s/c to proceed with Alternative 2 – Convert Discharge to Seepage Cell for sewer plant upgrade. Roll call vote – all yes
Overhead door at sewer plant has been installed.
Records need to be kept by fire department of water usage.
Conner contacted RC Pavers in regard to repairing blacktop on Field St, Village Hall parking lot, main street.
Discussion was held in regards to sidewalk replacement in the Village. A plan will be formed.
Building permit issued to Conner Opper.
Resignation was received from Erika DeNovi on July 14, 2024. Her pay will be prorated for the month of July with subtraction of fee for Clerk class.
Trustee Dombrowski has posted ad’s for clerk/treasurer position around the area, on social
media and will publish ads this week. Also to post message on Village sign.
Conner Opper will be working four ten hour days in November and December in lieu of paternity leave.

    seeking a qualified individual with administrative,
    financial and personnel skills to fill the part-time
    position of Village Clerk/Treasure.
  • Candidates must have graduated from an accredited
    high school and have experience working in
    accounting, QuickBooks software, Microsoft Word, and
    Excel.
  • Position offers a flexible work schedule to coincide
    with Village office hours, work is performed
    independently and can be completed remotely or at
    the Village Hall.
  • Prior municipal office experience and/or election
    administration is desired.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
    are necessary as well as the ability to prioritize
    accordingly.
