6/13/22 Board minutes

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING JUNE 13, 2022
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, June 13, 2022 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Tom Gatz, Conner Opper, Chris Jensen, Luke Reimer, Rich Resch & Richard Gruber
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Rich Resch informed the Board that a privacy fence in memory of Dave Resch will be installed at the ball park.
Richard Grubar asked for zoning on his property at 190 Cty Rd N be changed to just residential, not commercial.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
Schmidt/Behm m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
A $100 League of WI Municipalities insurance dividend was received.
The ambulance service will be remodeling the old village hall to allow overnight stays.
A complaint was received in regard to grass and rodents around PJ’s Pub.
The pond at Birchwood Park needs to be sprayed regularly. Trustee Schmidt will get quotes for fish. Contact DNR in regard to shocking pond for fish count.
E.Resch/Dombrowski m/s/c to rehab well #4 with a new submersible pump and base for $14,094. Roll call vote – all yes.
Schmidt/Behm m/s/c to grant picnic license to St. Philomena’s for August 14th. Roll call vote – all yes. Paperwork has been received from Birnamwood Baseball Team.
Fireworks permit was approved for Bruce Mitchell.
Another ARPA deposit in the amount of $40,925.40 will be received in June. We need to allocate funds by 2024 and use them by 2026.
Another phone line will be added for Conner Opper.
Trustee Dombrowski submitted information on how EMS funding is raised elsewhere. We need to educate the communities on the importance of keeping our department in service. Vote YES to EMS!
Chris & Conner have been working on replacing boards on the picnic tables. Edges need to be sanded.
Receipts for May were reported.

5/23/22 Board minutes

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING MAY 23, 2022
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, May 23, 2022 at the Matsche Center.
Trustee Behm was absent.
Also present: Tom Gatz, Rick Parker, Dave Humblet & Wayne Clark
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Rick Parker asked for reduction in sewer charges due to outside water leak.
Dave Humblet spoke in regard to Legion property progress.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
Water heater at ball park is working now.
We are again eligible for a $500.00 safety grant through our insurance company.
Village Hall steps need to be repaired.
Three lights are out at the ball park. Fundraiser account will pay for the lift truck to install them. More replacements will need to be ordered. Questions on outlets in the concession stand.
Televising of the sewer lines has been completed.
Fine screen at sewer plant will be installed this week.
E.Resch/Klumpyan m/s/c to grant temporary license to Birnamwood Little League. Roll call vote – all yes. Paperwork has not been received yet for Birnamwood Baseball Team.
Recycling grant was received for $555.58. This is based on per capita basis. $0.253 per person.
Discussion was held in regard to phone and truck usage for Conner.
President Sprague reported on the latest information for Ambulance fulltime service funding.

5/9/22 Board minutes

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING MAY 9, 2022
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, May 9, 2022 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Tom Gatz, Chris Jensen & Richard Leih
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
Paperwork was received from the Attorney. Signatures required.
Behm/Klumpyan m/s/c to accept bid from PSI Concrete for $2,800.00 to place 2 ADA ramps and repour sidewalks at ball park and $2,930.00 to place ADA ram and pour sidewalk by the school parking lot. Half of this is to be paid for by the school. Roll call vote – motion carried with R.Resch voting no.
Chemicals need to be added to the Birchwood Pond.
Street sweeper will start on Tuesday.
Hot water heater needs to be repaired at the ball park.
Schmidt/Behm m/s/c to grant picnic license to Birnamwood Baseball Team for May-Oct.
Roll call vote – all yes.
Sewer cleaners will be here next week.
27 Certified letters were sent for delinquent dogs.
Building permits were received from Anthony Donat & Jody Dombrowski.
Behm/R.Resch move to go to closed session at 8:10 p.m.
R.Resch/Schmidt moved to go to open session at 9:05 p.m.
Schmidt/Behm m/s/c to hire Conner Opper for the DPW assistant at $18.00 per hour, 1 week vacation after 1 year, insurance and holidays and required to get his CDL license and water/sewer certifications. Roll call vote – all yes.
Receipts were reported for April.

4/25/22 Board minutes

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING APRIL 25, 2022
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, April 25, 2022 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Tom Gatz, Chris Jensen
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Jody Dombrowski received the oath of office.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Behm m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
A partial bid was received from PSI Concrete. More information is needed.
Still waiting for papers from Attorney.
Chris will notify waste haulers that we will no longer take waste as of May 1st.
2 applications have been received. Committee will set up interviews.
Questions asked if fish are needed for pond and if speed sign is out.
25 letters were delivered for delinquent water bills.
Board of Review will be April 28, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Building permits were received from Terry Lake, Jesse Cummings, Randy Mahan, Mark Klumpyan
Dumpster has been delivered for yard waste.
