A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, December 22, 2021 at the Matsche Center.
Trustee Dombrowski was absent.
Also present: Luke Reimer, Tom Gatz & Chris Jensen
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Behm m/s/c to approve bills with holding back Fuller’s & Rew’s until further review.
Roll call vote – all yes.
DNR permit on hold until some changes can be made in discharge methods.
LRIP funds of $9,575.25 were approved for the 2022-2023 term.
Election Board for the 2022-2023 term will be Chanda Kersten, Jonelle Resch, Sandy
Meverden, Cheryl Rew, Jo Olson, Brenda Zastrow and Pam Backes.
R.Resch/Behm m/s/c to go to closed session for personnel issues at 8:17 p.m.
Return to open session at 8:57 p.m.
R.Resch/Klumpyan m/s/c to grant Chris Jensen a $.76 raise (2.85%, $27.60 per hour) plus another week vacation which meets the 5 week limit. Roll call vote – all yes.
Receipts for November were reported.

A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, November 8, 2021 at the Matsche Center.
Trustee Behm was absent.
Also present: Luke Reimer, Jon Block, Corin Martens & Chris Jensen.
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Corin Martens is looking for a place to hold 12 step program meetings.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
Schmidt/Klumpyan m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
Clerk submitted preliminary budget calculations. President Sprague explained the current
situation with the ambulance department and the need for funds from the area municipalities.
Still mixed answers in regard to the street right-of-way abandonment to the Legion and Village Park.
It will cost $14,690 to replace the broken screen and brushes at the sewer plant.
The new assessor has asked that a line for parcel numbers be added to the building permits.
A complaint was received in regard to cats running at large and hungry and many dogs not licensed and out in the cold and hungry at an area resident’s home.
The Shawano County library director spoke to President Sprague in regard to other space for the library as there are issued between the school and public library personnel.
Receipts were reported for October.

PET LICENSING
Dog/cat owners who fail to license their animals by March 31st will be subject to a late fee of $5.00 and an additional late fee of $10.00 will be assessed after April 30th! The Village Treasurer will notify Shawano County Sheriff of any unlicensed animals for appropriate fine. The Board has also designated a Dog Lister, who will verify all dogs are licensed with the Village.
No licenses will be issued without a certificate of rabies vaccination. All animals 5 months and older must have a rabies vaccination by a veterinarian. This is a state imposed law.
Please mail Certificate of Rabies Vaccination when applying for a dog license by mail. Certificate of rabies vaccination will be returned with dog/cat license.
If you no longer have a dog that was licensed in the Village last year, please notify the treasurer by mail or phone in order for us to remove it from our records.
Notice to landlords – please inform your renters with dogs/cats to have them licensed!
Dog/cat fees are:
$5.00 -neutered male or spayed females
$10.00 – unneutered or unspayed dogs/cats

Tax bills are mailed out by the end of December.
Payment amounts are included on the payment stub(s) located at the bottom of your tax bill. Please send appropriate stub with payment (1st installment, 2nd installment or paid in full).
Please do not send the entire tax bill with payment.
You may include all parcels on one check.
You may also include dog/cat license fees on the same check.
Payments will be accepted in the form of check, cashier’s check or money order. Please do not send or pay with cash. If sending an escrow check, verify it meets or exceeds the tax bill amount and endorse the escrow check for all names listed on the check.
Tax bills under $100.00 or less are payable in full by January 31 to the Village of Birnamwood Treasurer. Tax bills over $100.00 can be paid in two installments. First installment is due by January 31st to Village of Birnamwood. Second installment is due by July 31st to the County Treasurer. Any payments after January 31st are also paid to Shawano County Treasurer.

This will bring you to your parcel number or a list of parcel numbers
Click on your red parcel number
In the middle of the page that appears next, click the drop down arrow “select detail” and select “taxes”
You will see “print tax bills” and a list of available years. Click on current year and tax bill will open as a pdf document that you can print.
To print a tax receipt, under “tax history”, click on red tax year and in pop-up in upper right corner click on red “printer friendly”. Receipt will open for you to print.

A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, October 25, 2021 at the Matsche Center.
Trustee Klumpyan was absent.
Also present: Todd Anderson & Chris Jensen.
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Todd Anderson from Up North Assessments LLC submitted his proposal for assessor services. A re-evaluation will need to be done in 2023. $5,820.00 for 2022 & 2026. $8,580.00 for 2023-25. Dombrowski/Behm m/s/c to accept the proposal. Roll call vote – all yes.
Minutes were read and approved.

R. Resch/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
Letters of cancellation were signed for Resch Ins.
A complaint was received in regard to 397 Main St. A letter will be sent.
Building permit was received from Jon Bray.
The Village laptop was infected with a virus and repaired. Recommendations were made to
go to Quickbooks online to prevent future interruption of service. R.Resch/Behm m/s/c to
purchase this service at $1,524.06. Roll call vote – all yes.
Behm/Schmidt m/s/c to accept proposal from North Branch Electric for $600.00 to replace all emergency exit lights and $220.00 for LED flood light for flag pole. Roll call vote – all yes.
Chris Jensen presented a sample of the photo ID’s for Village employees. Approved by all.
Schmidt/R.Resch m/s/c to allow Chris Jensen to purchase a new pump for the Sewer utility
for use for future backups to the system.
No snow removal bids were received.
