PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING MARCH 28, 2022
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, March 14, 2022 at the Matsche Center.
All members were present.
Also present: Tom Gatz, Chris Jensen, Jon Block, Shari Walrath
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Shari Walrath, Shawano Co. Librarian, presented a calendar for April library programs.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Schmidt m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
Trustee Dombrowski will be checking for insurance grants.
President Sprague submitted info. To the attorney in regard to the legion lot and Corazalla easement.
The Legion will pay half of the survey cost and attorney cost.
PSI Concrete measured for the walk-way at the ball park and school parking lot ramp.
We need to contact John Rew in regard to ball park rules, parking, lights, dugouts and bathrooms so he can pass along the information to the teams who use the ball park.
Trustee Schmidt contacted the Highway Commissioner about the condition of Hwy N to the west.
Schmidt/Behm m/s/c to have the water tank inspection done at a cost of $2,950.00 to drain, clean and inspect. Roll call vote – all yes
May 28th the crane will be here to replace the fine screen at the sewer plant.
The engineer that was consulted in regard to the issues for meeting DNR regulations for the sewer plant recommended contacting the WRWA lobbyist.
Trustee Dombrowski has been working on updating and organizing the zoning and ordinance files.
WWTP assist committee will meet this week.
Schmidt/Dombrowski m/s/c to pay Village employees in appreciation for working through COVID using ARPA funds. Chris $1,000.00, Lauri $500.00, poll workers $200.00, Ron, Tom, Cameron & Brenna $200.00 each. Roll call vote – all yes with Ron, Ed & Mark abstaining, President voting.
Dombrowski/Schmidt m/s/c to adopt resolution for East Central Wi Regional Planning Committee amending the articles of organization and by-laws. Roll call vote – all yes with Karl abstaining.
A complaint was received about the dip in the blacktop at 464 Birch St.
It will take about 3 weeks each to refurbish the wells.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING MARCH 14, 2022
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, March 14, 2022 at the Matsche Center.
Trustee E. Resch was absent.
Also present: Tom Gatz
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.
R. Resch/Behm m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – all yes.
President Sprague met with Attorney in regard to the Legion lot & Corazalla Dr. easement. Additional information was needed and will be submitted.
Signage needs to be obtained for the ball park before season starts for rules, parking and lights.
Mike, Don & Ed met to discuss the WWTP assistant position. This will be a full-time position. Job duties and benefits need to be decided.
Schmidt/Klumpyan m/s/c to grant picnic licenses to American Legion for June 19th and August 21st. Roll call vote – all yes.
Schmidt/Behm m/s/c to proceed with repaving our share of Cty Hwy N at an approximate cost of $40,250.00 with 1/2 of funds from ARPA and 1/2 of funds from general fund. Roll call vote – all yes.
Discussion was held in regard to using ARPA funds to pay Village employees with Thank you bonuses for working during COVID. More discussion will be held at next meeting.
The East Central Planning Committee is looking to change how their board is set up. They are asking for the Village to adopt a resolution approving this process. More information is needed before making a decision.
Receipts were reported for February.
